SMART DOOR
SMART DOOR SYSTEM
Life Saving access in an emergency · Peace of mind for families with elderly relatives and children · Move through any doorway from either direction · Solving problems with overcrowded bathrooms · Similar cost to conventional door · Easily convert existing door · Able to operate effectively in both directions and in high traffic areas · One person installation in just a few minutes
INNOVATIVE FEATURES Discreet Hinge System The Smart Door hinge system are virtually concealed when the door is closed.
Heavy Duty Hinges The Smart Door hinges are of sturdy construction with a unique jacking pin on the bottom hinge. They are designed to support heavy solid core doors.
Ease of Painting The felt can be easily removed from each edge of the jamb prior to painting.
No Lubricants Required The nylon bushes eliminate the need to lubricate hinges.
Latch Mechanism Includes Privacy Feature The Smart Door latch is compatible with a wide range of existing off the shelf locks and handle designs. This includes push button privacy locks with emergency access features. Nursing homes etc. are usually able to unlock a door from the outside in an emergency. The same handles can be used when fitting the Smart Door system.
Lock and Striker Plate The Smart Door striker and striker plate and compatible with conventional door locks
Existing Doors and New Doors Existing door can easily be fitted with the Smart Door system or any new door blank used.
COST EFFECTIVENESS You will only need the door jambs, hinges, striker and striker plate if you are fitting the Smart Door system to an existing door.
Cost of the door jamb, striker plate, striker and hinges is very similar to standard fittings.
The cost of fitting a new Smart Door including the door, jamb, frame, hinges and fittings is very similar to a conventional door.
LEGAL CLAIMS Landlords and Retirement Villages avoid risk of legal claims by residents.

How It Works The patented System allows for rapid erection and for maximum performance in which high thermal ratings are maintained. Typically a galvanized high tensile C section track is attached to the floor frame, slab or bearers. This is the wall locator, in which Panels, easily cut with a power saw, are placed on end. As Panels are fitted, they are clamped together on completing a section of wall. A top plate, matching the locator plate, is fitted. Locator keys of galvanized steel 25mmRHS are inserted in longitudinal cavities of panel edges. Through these run M12 threaded rods, then attached to the upper and lower channels, and tightened. Joints are taped, and render or other textured finish applied. The final structure is immensely strong, effective and cannot be distinguished from a textured masonry wall. No specific skills are required making it ideal for DIY/renovators as well as professional builders and developers. Buildings are certified for construction in all parts of Australia.
Advantages Declining traditional building skills and more stringent energy rating requirements for new housing have encouraged increased interest in and acceptance of a fresh approach to housing, particularly in the area of building materials. Increasing prices and an urgent need to address ecological and sustainability issues have accelerated this process. Heating and cooling account for 30% of Australia’s total energy consumption. Production by homes of 15% of greenhouse gas emissions has lead to recommendations for homeowners to consider an “overcoat” of insulation in roofs, walls and floors. With proper design, in many parts of Australia the need for heating and cooling is minimised. With double glazing and without heating or cooling, a properly designed constructed dwelling, will only experience a small temperature difference between summer and winter anywhere in Australia. Rather than airconditioning in summer, often cross flow ventilation and ceiling fans will only be required. Due to the ease of construction and significantly reduced labour costs the System is ideal for single and two storey residential, commercial and industrial applications.
Wall Panel Wall panels are constructed using a polyurethane insulated laminate system. When injected into skins of cement sheets (alternatives are available) the fire resistant polyurethane expands under pressure to achieve maximum adhesion, leading to exceptional strength. The panels are strong, lightweight, structural and easy to handle. They may be ordered in 78mm, 104mm or 140mm thicknesses; widths from 200mm to 900mm, and lengths from 2400mm to 3000mm. Conduits for power cables and plumbing are inserted to order during manufacture.
Features: à Exceptional rating - minimum R3.8 à Totally reliable thermal and acoustic continuity and performance à No cavities, no gaps, no cold bridges, no thermal leaks à Light weight à Fire resistant à Termite and ant proof (one Australian home in five will suffer termite invasion). Polyurethane has no food value to vermin à Indoor and outdoor applications à Highly resistant to water absorption à Guaranteed long term performance
Roof Panels The lightweight Roof Panels are available in lengths up to 8 metres, providing a 700 mm cover. The Panels comprise a laminate of polyurethane between sheets of Colorbond, Zincalume, Spandeck, cement or timber laminates. The 100mm Panels offer a thermal value of R4.5 and have achieved a permissible stress design load of 3.7kPa under the SAA Wind Loading Code AS 1170.2-1989 from James Cook University’s Structural Cyclone Testing Centre. Panels are easily cut to required size and shape, and will accommodate most roof designs. They are complemented by proprietary cappings and standard quad gutter systems.
Features: à Generous span capacity of up to 8 metres à Absolute structural consistency à Insulation index> R 4.5 à Available in a range of finishes à Simple “ slide in” installation à Combination of lightness and construction method means speedier project completion à Guaranteed long term performance
Floor Panels
Floor Panels are typically 2400x900x108, using “skins” of Cement sheets and Yellowtongue in lengths up to 3.6 metres. Walls may be built on a concrete slab base, or a timber or steel framework. The weight of the panels, in concert with their structural rigidity, allows for a reduction of up to 50% in total stumps required. Very high insulation value of R4.75.
Features: à Ease and speed of erection à Choice of upper “ skin” allows alternate finishes à Site waste dramatically reduced à Suitable for all sub frames à Can provide ease of access if underfloor water storage is incorporated à Completes the “ thermal overcoat” recommendation for energy-efficient housing. à Highly resistant to water absorption à Guaranteed long term performance
Wall Cladding Panel Cladding Panels are designed to meet the needs of the homeowner/renovator and DIY market. Available in the same dimensions as the standard Wall Panels, Cladding Panels are 58 mm thick, sufficient to give a high R 2.6 insulation factor. They are extremely strong, impact resistant and light weight, at 32kg for a 2400 x 900 x 58mm panel. They can be attached to steel or timber frames, or to existing timber, fibro or brick walls, without needing to remove the original material. Simple tongue and groove joints contribute to major reductions in construction time, with significant labour savings. Cladding Panels “skins” are mainly cement sheets although alternatives are available. Their strength and rigidity require minimal frame correction prior to installation. Adhesion for decorative coatings: render, textured paint etc is outstanding.
Features: à Can be installed over existing surfaces or on to bare frame à High thermal efficiency à Noise absorbent à Impact resistant à Lightweight à Suitable for DIY builders/renovator's à Guaranteed long term performance
BUILDING MANAGEMENT
Graffiti is an ongoing problem. Existing coatings
are often toxic requiring special application with large buffer zones.
