Energy Partners have found application of an Australian Heat Reflective coating to roofs and walls particularly effective in reducing heat in buildings, airconditioning use, costs and greenhouse gas emissions.

 

Major benefits are:

· Reduced internal temperatures by up to 20 degrees.

· Reduced airconditioning cooling costs up to 40%.

· Increased profits by maximising staff performance.

· Increased student performance.

· Reduced risk of OH&S claims arising from lower levels of concentration.

Extensive testing has shown that Solacoat in summer can reduce the temperature of roofing materials by up to 40°C creating a pleasant environment within the building.

Solacoat applied to a building with a roof area of 150 sq.metres will reduce the heat absorption of a green colourbond roof from 39 kilowatts to under 4 kilowatts. Savings of about $450 can be made by reducing air cooling costs during summer.

By using Solacoat greenhouse gas is reduced by 4 tonnes.


Solacoat has good architectural appearance as well as durability, waterproofing and covering properties. It provides an excellent protective coating.

Solacoat can be applied to most roofing, however it will not adhere to oil based products such as dacramastic tiles etc.

Solacoat is available in a range of light and heritage colours.

HEAT REFLECTIVE PAVEMENT COATING

Water based new technology Heat Reflective & Non-Slip-Waterproof Pavement Coatings specifically designed to give a hard wearing, non slip & waterproof surface with minimal heat absorption characteristics.

Surface temperatures will be between 5 - 12°C cooler than if traditional coatings or other natural stone, concrete or ceramic tiled surfaces were used.

Surrounding ambient air temperatures are reduced by around 3 - 8°C significantly reducing re-radiated heat later in the day or evening. Ideal for pedestrian areas shopping centres, malls, school playgrounds, housing complexes, and resorts.

When sealed can be used in light vehicle traffic areas and parking lots.
